A software & design studio

Software craft, planted close to home.

A small band of senior engineers and designers, at your service — building thoughtful digital products for the people the industry overlooks.

01 — Who we are

Technology, with roots.

We’re a software and design studio bringing our craft to places the industry tends to overlook — small towns, family businesses, regional nonprofits, the work happening well outside the orbit of the industry’s center of gravity. Thoughtful digital products can strengthen the communities and businesses that rarely make it onto a venture capitalist’s radar.

We’re engineers and designers with years behind us — consulting, building at scale inside the largest tech companies, sharpening our craft. Along the way we learned that shipping the next sprawling platform mattered less to us than building something a real person uses on a Tuesday morning and finds genuinely better than what came before.

“We’re here to find the people and projects worth that kind of attention.”

02 — How we work

Six things we hold to.

These aren’t aspirations. They’re the working principles we keep returning to, project after project.

  1. 01

    You come first.

Not a slogan but a working principle. We design for the people on the other end of your software, and we keep you in the room from kickoff to launch.

  2. 02

    Affable on purpose.

Being a good partner is a discipline. We return calls, explain our reasoning, stay patient with what we're still learning about your world, and generous with what we know.

  3. 03

    Partnership over hand-off.

You work directly with the people building your project. No account managers translating between you and the team. No surprise hand-offs to someone you've never met.

  4. 04

    Craft is non-negotiable.

We care how your software is built, how it reads, how it ages, and how it feels to use on a Tuesday morning when no one's watching.

  5. 05

    Ingenuity inside your constraints.

Real budgets, legacy systems, regulatory realities, the way your industry actually works — we treat constraints as the interesting part of the problem, and often the source of the best ideas.

  6. 06

    Your community is the point.

The work matters because of who it's for. We're drawn to projects where good software makes a real difference for the people you serve.

03 — Who we work with

A wonderfully varied set of clients.

We’re drawn to the work happening outside the industry’s center of gravity. If your project sits in any of these worlds — or somewhere adjacent — we’d like to hear from you.

  • 01Green-tech ventures and climate-focused operators.
  • 02Municipal agencies, regional utilities, civic non-profits.
  • 03Established regional businesses with real digital ambitions.
  • 04Founders building something they genuinely care about.
  • 05Universities and libraries.
  • 06Family-run operations stepping into a bigger digital footprint.
  • 07Specialized practices and practitioners who don't fit a box.

If you want a partner who’ll learn your world and treat your project as their own — you’re our kind of client.

04 — Begin

Tell us what you’re aiming at.

Have a project in mind? Send us a note about what you’re working on and what’s standing in the way. You’ll hear back from one of the people who’d actually do the work — not an account manager, not a form-letter reply.
